Hop on and ride along: a route through ‘up-and-coming’ neighborhoods and cultural hotspots you have to see. During this bike tour you’ll experience the promise of Amsterdam-Noord in its purest form: innovative, creative and always evolving. We’ll cycle past new residential developments along the IJ and explore the coolest hotspots in dynamic Noord.<\/p>

Our route begins at Buiksloterdijkpark<\/b>, heading towards Klaprozenweg. We’ll turn right and cross Zijkanaal I, passing the charming, sometimes quirky houseboats at the houseboat harbor, which offer a unique view along the waterfront.<\/p>

We continue the route to the iconic NDSM Wharf<\/b>: a creative hotspot full of industrial charm. The former shipyard has been transformed into a vibrant neighborhood with art, culture and dining options.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    After a short break, we continue cycling along the waterfront, towards Buiksloterham<\/b>. At Ridderspoorweg, we turn right. Over the water of the Johan van Hasseltkanaal, we arrive at the new neighborhood between Distelweg and Tolhuiskanaal, where both collective and private initiatives are shaping the modern Amsterdam-Noord. From sustainable housing projects to the latest architectural wonders: everything here exudes innovation and creativity. The Nxt Museum<\/b> and several cozy eateries make this area a vibrant spot.       After a pit stop we continue, passing the sluice and cycling along the Sixhaven<\/b> to Herberg Het Mandelahuisje<\/b>, a charming spot offering yet another stunning view of Amsterdam. We then head back a bit before continuing to the ‘revamped’ Van der Pekbuurt<\/b>, one of the oldest and most distinctive neighborhoods in Amsterdam-Noord. This area has undergone an impressive transformation in recent years, blending old and new developments. Just a bit further, you’ll find Caf\u00e9 de Ceuvel<\/b>, a super trendy harbor caf\u00e9 with art \u2013 the perfect spot to enjoy eco-friendly burgers and croquettes.<\/p>

      We continue along Papaverweg, then turn left and cycle past SchoonSchip, a floating residential area in the Johan van Hasseltkanaal. This eco- and socially-sustainableneighborhood, where 46 households have been living on 30 houseboats since early 2020, is the most sustainable floating neighborhood in Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

      We head back to Ridderspoorweg, take a right turn and then turn left at the intersection onto Monnikskapstraat, next to the Papaverplantsoen. Here, we cycle past more beautiful homes, built by commission of the residents. We cross Klaprozenweg again via Maagdenpalmstraat.
